Malpractice Policy

This page is intended for use by the directors and managers of Elev8 Training Limited. It has been drawn up in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualification Policy and Procedure guidance for dealing with suspected malpractice in training and assessing.

The purpose of the document is to enable the directors and managers of Elev8 Training Limited to deal with malpractice on the part of learners, staff and any others for whom the company has responsibility and to ensure that appropriate action is taken in order to maintain the integrity of the qualification.

Definition of Malpractice:

Malpractice is essentially any activity or practice which deliberately contravenes regulations, compromises the integrity of the assessment process, the validity of certificates or the purpose of the company.

Individual Responsibility:

Each individual employed by the company or performing work on behalf of the company has a responsibility to report any knowledge, concern or suspicion they may have in relation to the provision of training by the company. Such knowledge, concern or suspicion can relate to individuals working for the company or to institutions working in partnership with or on behalf of the company.

Anyone providing such information to the company will be treated with respect, taken seriously and under no circumstances will such a person suffer any penalty as a result of providing such information.

Investigation:

Anyone having knowledge, concern or suspicion of malpractice will report the matter in the first instance to their immediate manager. Should the malpractice concern the immediate manager they should report to one of the directors.

On receipt of the information the manager or director will take the following action:

a) Record the incident in detail.

b) Interview the complainant to establish the facts.

c) Interview any witnesses.

d) Provide a detailed report to the directors indicating any action taken or contemplated.

e) Where the manager decides to take no action that will be communicated to the directors in writing.

On receipt of the manager’s report the directors will decide whether or not to take further action. Their decision will be recorded and a copy placed in the relevant file.

In the event of the complaint being against a director the other director will carry out the investigation and record each step taken and decisions made.

Our Partners:

Elev8 Training Limited works with a number of colleges, other partners and Awarding Organisations including Active IQ & Skillsfirst.

Where a complaint concerns a partner with whom the company is working the relevant partner will be informed at the earliest opportunity and a full report on the matter will be provided. Any action taken or “no action” will be notified to the partner with the reasons for such an outcome.
